About this home

UNIQUE EXPERIENCE to stay in one of the most iconic buildings in Historic Roscoe Village! The 1860's canal era building has a long history, originally constructed as a hotel on the 2nd and 3rd floors, the main floor was a pharmacy and dry goods store. You will now find a full kitchen, full bathroom, living room, and two bedrooms, both with a queen size bed. The apartment has Direct TV as well as high speed internet. This charming 3rd floor apartment is located in the heart of Historic Roscoe Village, just steps away from shopping, dining and two wonderful bars. This unit has a shared heating and cooling system. We keep the temperature comfortable year round with heating and air conditioning. There is Coin Operated Laundry available for guests, located on the 2nd floor of the building. Please feel free to use the laundry facility if you need. You will have access to en entire apartment. There is a coin operated laundry area on the 2nd floor that is a common area open to all guests. You may also encounter guests on the back deck or porch areas. Historic Roscoe Village is a charming canal era town. These towns are very unique in their own right, and very few of them still exist around the country. Many of the buildings in the village date back over 200 years.Downtown Coshocton is 2 minutes, Kid's America 10 minutes, Clary Gardens 3 minutes, Lake Park 5 minutes, West Lafayette and Warsaw 10 minutes. South Second Street (5 minutes) is where you will find fast food, pizza, discount stores and gas stations. EV chargers are located across from COTC on N. Whitewoman St. in Roscoe Village. Roscoe Village is a very walkable area - once you've parked, you do not need a vehicle to explore the whole village. There is a dedicated gravel parking lot behind the building for our Airbnb and apartment guests. You will have access to an aerial photo of the building and parking lot for reference once you've booked. You are staying in the restored Roscoe Hotel (circa 1856). The building was built by Arnold Medbery and it replaced Medbery’s earlier, wood framed hotel (built 1832) that burned. This building was also a stagecoach stop and was believed to have been on the Underground Railroad. The building housed retail businesses on the main level, sleeping rooms on the second and third floors, and a ballroom on the top floor. The wood floors are from trees as far back as the 1600's and the original plaster walls have some cracks from nearly 170 years that add charm and character to the rooms. There was no electricity or cars and Ohio was just over 40 years old when this building was populated by early European settlers moving west. Millard Fillmore was president and the American civil war was still years away. This is no ordinary airbnb apartment, we have added modern conveniences but tried to keep the historical integrity alive for your enjoyment. Make sure to visit the Coshocton Visitors Bureau located across the street from the apartment (at 432 N Whitewoman St) to get tons of local recommendations!

Maxx’s place was exactly what we expected! Older building but very nice, clean, and the perfect space for us as we visited the area for a volleyball tournament. There are multiple units in the building and you can hear others in theirs at times but that didn’t bother us at all and everyone was quiet well before it got late. I love the quaint atmosphere and the area of Coshocton feels very safe! Highly recommend and this will be our go to spot for future tournaments!

The apartment was lovely, and the building itself interesting since a historical building. The coffee shop below is awesome as is the restaurant and taverns near by.

The location was nice and close to restaurants. The parking was small and not really big enough for big trucks. The apartment was nice. The only issue that we had was the shower was very small.
