About this home

UNIQUE EXPERIENCE to stay in one of the most iconic buildings in Historic Roscoe Village! The 1860's canal era building has a long history, originally constructed as a hotel on the 2nd and 3rd floors, the main floor was a pharmacy and dry goods store. This apartment is where the original hotel lobby was first located. You will now find a full kitchen, full bathroom, living/dining room, and a bedroom with a king size bed. The apartment has Roku TV as well as high speed internet. This charming 2nd floor apartment is located in the heart of Historic Roscoe Village, just steps away from shopping, dining and two wonderful bars. This apartment has an adjoining door that connects to another Airbnb. This door is always locked from both sides, however, it can be accessible if both parties are traveling together. The other Airbnb unit is called "Dottie's Place in the Heart of Historic Roscoe Village". It is a two bedroom apartment with a queen and a full sized beds, living room with couch, full bathroom, kitchen and dining area. If interested, simply book both units for the same dates. This unit has a shared heating and cooling system. We keep the temperature comfortable year round with heating and air conditioning. There is Coin Operated Laundry available for guests, located on the 2nd floor of the building. Please feel free to use the laundry facility if you need. Roscoe Village is a very walkable area - once you've parked, you do not need a vehicle to explore the whole village. There is a dedicated gravel parking lot behind the building for our Airbnb and apartment guests. The host will send you an aerial photo of the building and parking lot for reference once you've booked. Located within the heart of Historic Roscoe Village, this historic canal era town is filled with charm and small shops and just steps away from excellent dining options and a wonderful bar (with another opening soon). Also within walking or biking distance are the beautiful trails of Lake Park. Amish Country is just a short drive away and makes for an excellent day trip while staying in Roscoe Village.Downtown Coshocton is 2 minutes, Kid's America 10 minutes, Clary Gardens 3 minutes, Lake Park 5 minutes, West Lafayette and Warsaw 10 minutes. South Second Street (5 minutes) is where you will find fast food, pizza, discount stores and gas stations. EV chargers are located across from COTC on N. Whitewoman St. in Roscoe Village. You are within walking distance of all of Roscoe Village. There are several area taxi services available if you wish to travel outside Roscoe Village and prefer not to drive. You are staying in the restored Roscoe Hotel (circa 1856). The building was built by Arnold Medbery and it replaced Medbery’s earlier, wood framed hotel (built 1832) that burned. This building was also a stagecoach stop and was believed to have been on the Underground Railroad. The building housed retail businesses on the main level, sleeping rooms on the second and third floors, and a ballroom on the top floor. The wood floors are from trees as far back as the 1600's and the original plaster walls have some cracks from nearly 170 years that add charm and character to the rooms. There was no electricity or cars and Ohio was just over 40 years old when this building was populated by early European settlers moving west. Millard Fillmore was president and the American civil war was still years away. This is no ordinary airbnb apartment, we have added modern conveniences but tried to keep the historical integrity alive for your enjoyment. Make sure to visit the Coshocton Visitors Bureau located across the street from the apartment (at 432 N Whitewoman St) to get tons of local recommendations!

This was our first journey to Ohio, and we were pleasantly surprised. We searched for an Airbnb in the area and saw this one on the main street in the town we wanted to visit. We were a bit hesitant, especially about the proximity of the Airbnb and the main street, but decided to book the stay. Yes, the place was on the main street, but it wasn’t as noisy as you would expect. We had a very pleasant stay and close proximity to places to eat and drink. The place was very nice and spacious and met all our needs. The Tuckey’s Tavern across the street provided great food and drink. The warehouse across the street was overpriced, and the drinks were more ice than drink.

I’ve been to Roscoe Village many times when visiting family, but staying at this airbnb will definitely stand out as one of my favorite visits. So cool to stay at such a historical place! A morning walk through the gardens in Roscoe is very peaceful, and the coffee shop being right downstairs is incredible! Highly recommend!

Maxx was an excellent host. Everything was as described in the posting. It was one of our best stays we've had over the years. Looking at coming back when we can.

My daughter and I had a wonderful visit. The unit was very comfortable and had a unique historical feel to it. I am a light sleeper so traffic noise may be an issue for some. Sound machines are a wonderful asset. It was very close inconvenient for all that we wanted to do. I would definitely recommend it for others to stay.

Pearl’s Place was the perfect stay for us and our doggo’s! Very convenient location in Roscoe Village, within walking distance of restaurants and shops. The apartment itself was very cozy and super easy to get to! We made ourselves right at home! Maxx was such a kind and courteous host! The communication was top notch and we greatly appreciated that! We would definitely stay here again and would recommend for sure to others looking to stay in the area! Thank you again for a lovely getaway!

Unique place. We stayed two nights as we were attending the Buckeye Superfest Country Concert in Columbus. Pearl’s Place was about 1 1/2 hours to the Ohio Stadium - well worth the savings of staying near the event. Place looked like the photos and everything was well stocked, especially the kitchen. We arrived late at night and to be honest, we weren’t quite sure as it felt like it could be a little “haunted”. After doing a little research legend has it that there were seances held there, which adds a little flavor. No supernatural phenomena for us though, when the sun came up, the place took on a cheerful vibe. The little historic town is quaint and has wonderful restaurants and shops. Prices were reasonable. We had a bite at Huck’s Tavern and an amazing breakfast sandwich and specialty coffee at Indian Bear Cork & Coffee. Don’t miss a stop at the Roscoe Village Sweets & Treats! Everyone we encountered was extremely friendly. If we come back, I would not hesitate to book here again!

We had a nice time staying here for one night. Host was friendly and responsive. It wasn't quite as "polished" as I expected, but was quite large and had good character.
